THE HAVEN STORY

Our name is a tribute to Glenn Havens, a neighborhood engineer with a legendary DIY spirit. What started as a backyard BBQ pit in the 1940’s at his Kensington home became a 15-year labor of love, as he built over 700 feet of hand-dug tunnels that served as the ultimate neighborhood hangout. From subterranean ping-pong matches to his daughter carol’s 1960 wedding reception, Glenn’s tunnels were a sanctuary for fun.

We built the Haven restaurant to be your modern-day place to retreat, relax, and connect over delicious food and drinks. Thank you for letting us be a part of your story!
